Emily Prince
The cover art for Joanna Newsom's "Milk-Eyed Mender" by Emily Prince was one of the reasons I taught myself to stitch. She is currently working on an ongoing portrait series entitled American Servicemen and Women Who Have Died in Iraq and Afghanistan (but Not Including the Wounded, nor the Iraqis nor the Afghans).

Military Badges
German Sniper Badge (1944-45): These were introduced towards the end of the WWII to distinguish the German snipers. Since these badges were introduced so late in the conflict, they are quite rare.
Electronic Attack Squadron - "Zappers": VAQ-130 is the oldest electronic warfare squadron in the United States.

The Special Boat Service (SBS) is the special task force of the British Royal Navy. They are similar to the American Navy SEALs. This is an older version of their badge. Their current one is much more austere.

Tamagotchi

I found this amazing set of Tamagotchi plushies with my friend Ellen at a Salvation Army in Bloomfield, Connecticut many years ago. She also has a set of 4.
