My friend Ellen sent me an incredible package. Of all the goodies inside, this mixtape and this tag were my favorites. It's a machine embroidery of a Russian stamp from the 70's. Noyta means "postage" in Russian.

Marushka

My parents bought this silk screen by Marushka years ago. It reminds me so much of family trips to Maine.

"Marushka, a design and silk screen textile manufacturing company, was founded in Spring Lake, Michigan, in 1972 by Phyllis Gifford and Dick Sweet. the name “Marushka” means “Mary” in Polish." - unruly things

a Whale of a Tale

I love the majestic size and weight of whales, and I made an animation about one while in school. I stitched this last summer when I was considering getting a tattoo of a whale on my right shoulder. I still haven't gotten it yet, but perhaps this will be the summer.
